En la D.O.P Valtiendas se marca como en ningún otro rincón de España la continentalidad en sus vinos. Esto se debe no sólo a su ubicación en el mapa, sino también a su gran altitud, con un promedio de 902 metros. Navaltallar exacerba este extremo ya que sus vinos estrella, los Robles 16 meses se elaboran con uva procedentes de viñedos situados a 960 metros de altura.
Otras zonas conocidas por su altitud se sitúan bastante lejos de esta cota: así Cebreros tiene una altitud media de 850 metros, mientras que la Ribera del Duero esta a 780, por 750 del Bierzo o los 700 de Somontano.
Sin duda los vinos de Bodegas Navaltallar son vinos de altura.
